Poetry

You may recall when I dropped Cultural Refugee earlier this year, I offered it not only as an album for your listening pleasure, but also as a tool and catalyst for your creative exploits. I’ve been posting the pieces artists have sent me using the album in the series The Raps You Never Heard. Usually i get them one, maybe two at a time. Not this time. Denton’s AV the Great (AKA Chris Cole on K104) decided to just go ahead and do a whole album: Poetry. Check it out.

The Raps You Never Heard #13: “Flip the Script”

Back again, Quiz blesses us with lucky number 13, flipping the script over “The Turnaround.” If you’re a rap fan and you’re still not up on the god, you have officially earned my disapproval.

To remedy this, listen to the track posted below and then go straight to the Elm and Oak site, download his most recent release Etcetera. No need to thank me.

The Raps You Never Heard #9: “And No One”

Before rolling out the next series of The Raps You Never Heard, turns out we got one more for the first season courtesy of GPocalypse, who’s distorted vocals over “And No One” seem to give the track a little futuristic twist.
